Owner Finance Properties
Due to limitations on bank loans for foreign buyers in Thailand, some property owners offer "Owner Finance" options. This allows buyers to pay for the property in installments over 6 months to 3 years, sometimes longer, usually requiring a 25-50% down payment. Interest may or may not apply, depending on the terms.
How It Works
Upon payment of the deposit, the property is taken off the market, and legal documents are held by a lawyer until the balance is fully paid. If payments are missed, the buyer risks losing both the property and any money paid.
